About Will Shindler

Will Shindler has been a BBC broadcast journalist for more than thirty years. His career has taken him from radio newsrooms to television studios and live events, including presenting for ITV West, reporting for BBC Radio Five Live and serving as one of the stadium presenters at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He spent almost a decade in television drama as a script editor on Born and Bred and Doctors, and as a writer on The Bill. Those years shaped his interest in character driven storytelling and authentic police work.

Since 2020 he has written five novels in the DI Alex Finn series — The Burning Men, The Killing Choice, The Hunting Ground, The Blood Line and The Cold Case. His first horror novel, The Bone Queen, was published in the United States by Minotaur in early 2026.

He still reads the news for BBC Radio London. And then he goes home and writes about what might be hiding behind it.
